This isn’t the drawing that I intended to create. I had a different idea but when I started to execute it, other ideas came to me and I decided to go with it. I will get back to the original idea at some point. For this piece, I used a .18 Rapidograph pen.

I stole the title from Michel de Montaigne but the drawing does not bear any relationship to his essay. It was simply a phrase that harmonized with what I wanted to convey with the drawing. At times like these I wish I had the skills and resources to realize the costume in cloth. Eiko Ishioka would have been fun to collaborate with! Alexander McQueen? Sigh.
