To Wander Where I Will

To Wander Where I Will, 2025, ink on paper, 24″ x 18″

Lately, I’ve become fascinated by fragmentary Greek masks such as the one above. I need to do more research on them, but on an emotional level, I truly love their mysterious, incomplete quality. This sensibility was the inspiration for my latest piece, a large stippled drawing called To Wander Where I Will. That same sense of absence runs through the other subjects in the piece, through the textures and form. Each of these figures implies a past state. They speak to fragmentation and decay, but also of becoming. A piece like this is best viewed close up. With that in mind, I’ve added a slideshow of details below.

To Wander Where I Will is available for sale.
