Lens

This is my first drawing with the .13 Rotring Rapidograph. Until now I've been a die hard .18 Koh-I-Noor user. I still like the latter but I found that the Rotring pen delivered a great performance and gave me a much finer grain. I am definitely using this pen for the illustrations I am working... Strangewood (Florestranha)

I had a nice time working on this painting last summer, so it is rewarding to see it in its finished form. The cover design looks great. I believe it comes out next month (March). The book also includes b/w interior illustrations.

A is for Alien

I just noticed that PS Publishing in the UK has listed Caitlin R. Kiernan's A is for Alien in their Forthcoming Books section. The cover design incorporates one of my drawings. - Richard.

I just found this photo, which I had quite forgotten about, in my camera. It's a good one don't you think? Besides being an amazing poet, Steve is... Continue Reading →

Dear Love, An Animated Short

Fellow London artist Sarah Legault's animated film Dear Love is now available on her Etsy site. When I received mine, I found an actual book from the film enclosed in the DVD case! This film is visually beautiful as well as genuinely moving. I hope you'll check it out. - Richard.

The Curious Voyage

This is a picture of my drawing table this afternoon. It's a cloudy day, hence the bluish light. You are seeing the early stages of a new drawing that doesn't even have a title yet, though I am leaning toward "The Curious Voyage" The working title will make more sense when the last major element...
